How to transport a Ferrari racing car?

Ferrari 458 GT3

Ever thought about how they transport GT3 racing cars? Those aren’t normal cars because they have a ground clearance of 60 mm.  It’s very important to get them safe, without any damage, in their transport vehicule.

Ferrari chooses Stringo for vehicle handling

I think it’s a rather unusual thing to have transport  machines that can pick up cars as low as this Ferrari. But therefore it doesn’t make it unnecessary. I think it’s rather important to transport these cars without damaging them because they cost a lot of money, the research en development they did for these cars was also very expensive and refined.

To deliver a car like that on a track with some damage at the front splitter could cost them a few seconds in their lap time so I think Stringo does a good job with their machines.

Ferrari California T

Ferrari California T

Today Ferrari has released their latest model.  It’s based on the previous California but it’s changed in many different ways.

In 2008 the first California was launched. Later this year on the International Motor Show of Geneva the brand new Ferrari California T will be presented to the public for the first time.

The most remarkable change in the design compared to the previous one is the exhausts. Now they are placed next to each other instead of above each other. The design is based on the legendary Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.

The car will have a 3.8 liter V8 engine that produces 560 bhp. Since the Ferrari F40, the California T will be the first car again with an engine supported by two turbos.

Next to Ferrari, McLaren will also launch a new model at the International Motor Show of Geneva.

McLaren has 2 models in its range now. The -sold out- McLaren P1 and the McLaren MP4-12C, a convertible and a coupé.

The new model, the McLaren 650S, will be positioned between the MP4-12C and the P1.

I’ll keep you up to date when there are more details and specifications available on this car.

In the spotlight part 3: Novitec Group

Dark tail lights, decent rims, a customized body kit and and epic soundtrack. That’s the formula that the Novitec Group has been using since 1989.

Novitec Torado

A young dynamic company

The Novitec Group is established in Stetten, half an hour from Münich in Germany. The group is specialised in the customization of Italian sport cars. They tune Ferraris under the brand: Novitec Rosso. The first Novitec Rosso they made was based on the Ferrari 360 Modena. Something very remarkable on every Novitec are the completely black tail lights. They are especially made for these cars and today they are a very unique part of a Novitec car.

Since 2007 they have expanded the company and started with tuning the Maserati Gran Turismo: the Maserati Novitec Tridente. Last year they also tuned the Lamborghini Aventador under the name Novitec Torado.

The company has 3 very important values: delivering quality, keeping the original lines of the car en delivering customized products.

The domain where the Novitec Group is established is fairly small. In Stetten they sell the cars, but they sell parts all over the world which makes it a booming company. It started very small but now there are Novitec cars worldwide.

Here are some pictures from Novitec’s creations.
